...comin' home so you'd better get a party started!

I'll be back in Belfast 17th November in the Mandela Hall.  The last time I played there was with Gomez, that was a good night.

I've also got two new dates in Dublin at the Sugar Club, 19th 20th November... not to mention the gig with Sinéad O'Connor on the 18th, in fact you know what?  I 've got a lot of new gigs so just go to the tour page to see if I'm in your neck of the woods.

I'm in Dublin today for promo, but I finished at lunch time, so I had the afternoon to myself.  I went and bought 'Krapp's Last Tape', a play by Samuel Beckett.  I paid €14 for it and it's about a page long and even though it was worth it, the link I just gave you shows the entire piece; ironic.  It's a great play.  Beckett has an immense talent for setting a scene and drawing you in.  I felt a kinship with Krapp, in that I keep my own private journals which I occasionally go back over and see what I used to talk about, then get pissed off at myself for the futility of the exercise...

I met up with a few friends who had tickets for the Arcade Fire gig, not just any old tickets either, right there in the mosh pit.  However I'm afraid they were waisted on me.  I've heard a recording of Arcade Fire once and love it (just last week when my friend Josh playing it to me in his car) but I'm not acquainted with the songs at all which you need to be for a gig like tonight.  It was a marquee in Pheonix Park with 10,000 people, so the tunes were banging, and you couldn't hear the vocals so it didn't really draw me in, the way I'm sure they would in a more intimate setting.  Still, I'm undeterred; I'll buy their albums and give them due time when I have it.

Right now I'm either gonna watch a DVD, start recording my podcast or go to bed... only time will tell.

You were at the Arcade Fire gig? So was I. It was a brilliant night also in the pit. Duke was there too the same night as me.(Wed) Weird he didn't jump out at me from the crowd! Definitely buy their albums. They are brilliant. Prefer the first album though. Can't wait for the Dublin gig on the 19th. I've turned the whole family into Foy fans so we'll all be there! My dad was amazed the first time he listened to the album and hasn't stopped singing praises since.

Hey Foy Been a while, Well think its about that time again. Every time i go to one of your gigs i ask for the piano sheet music for the Hope and never get it, maybe some day i'll get tired of asking, ya never know. Been on to Freshwater to try and buy it and they didn't even wb. Ill be in the Sugar Club to see you on the Tuesday night so if you or Jules could arrange a copy of them i would would be delighted. Might even be another pint or two of the black stuff in it for you. Seemed to enjoy the last ones ;-)
